Two challengers. Two raised podiums. Two padded pugil sticks. One question: who can stay standing the longest?
Inspired by the classic duels made famous by ITV's Gladiators, our Gladiator Duel inflatable brings head-to-head competition to birthday parties, school fun days, corporate events and family celebrations. Participants stand on separate raised platforms and attempt to knock their opponent off balance using oversized foam-padded jousting sticks.
With its purple-and-black Party Time design, colourful stars, balloons and streamers, this inflatable looks the part at a fun day. Better still, it provides plenty of entertainment for spectators as well as the two people taking part.
Contenders Ready? Gladiators Ready?
There is something wonderfully competitive about a Gladiator Joust. No complicated rules, no lengthy explanation and no need for a whole team. Just two participants facing each other, each holding a padded pugil stick and trying to stay on their podium.
The challenge is to maintain your balance while attempting to unseat your opponent. A well-timed move can turn the contest around in seconds, particularly when one contender starts wobbling and desperately tries to recover!
The surrounding inflatable bed provides a cushioned area around the raised platforms, so participants who lose their balance fall onto the inflatable rather than directly onto the ground.
Each duel can be supervised and run in accordance with the equipment's operating rules, with participants matched appropriately for size and ability.
What's Included with the Gladiator Duel?
The attraction consists of a large inflatable jousting arena with two raised stands positioned opposite one another. We also provide two padded pugil sticks, one for each competitor.
The arena has a bold purple surround decorated with Party Time artwork. Its black-and-purple inflatable floor and raised platforms create a distinctive competition area, while the relatively open design makes it easy for spectators to follow the action from outside.
There are no complicated obstacle sections or climbing walls. The entire attraction is designed around one entertaining contest: staying on your platform while trying to knock your opponent off theirs.
Bring a Little Gladiators-Style Competition to Your Event
Fans of ITV's Gladiators will recognise the idea immediately. Two competitors, padded jousting sticks, raised platforms and the challenge of staying upright while an opponent tries to knock you down.
You can even introduce your own tournament format for a suitable organised event. Start with individual matches, keep track of the winners and arrange a final showdown between the strongest contenders.
For a birthday party, children can challenge their friends in appropriately matched contests. At a corporate fun day, colleagues can settle a few friendly rivalries. Family gatherings can provide some particularly entertaining matchups, especially when everyone watching has a different prediction about who will win.
It's Just as Much Fun to Watch
Some inflatable attractions are primarily entertaining for the people using them. The Gladiator Duel is different because the audience becomes part of the atmosphere.
Friends can cheer on their favourite contender, colleagues can support their teammates and family members can watch the action unfold from outside the inflatable.
That makes it particularly effective at events where you want one attraction to generate interest beyond the participants themselves. A good duel can have the whole group watching, especially when both competitors are determined not to be the first one knocked off.
A Brilliant Addition to Team-Building Days
Corporate events often work best when activities encourage people to interact without requiring everyone to participate at once. The Gladiator Joust is ideal for introducing a little light-hearted competition.
Teams can nominate challengers, colleagues can take turns competing and spectators can support their chosen contender. For a bigger activity day, you could combine it with the Inflatable Penalty Shootout and Funfair Games to create a selection of different challenges.
Our Inflatable Games range includes further options for organisations planning competitive entertainment rather than conventional children's bouncy castle hire.
Build Your Own Inflatable Tournament
The Gladiator Duel can be the centrepiece of a competition-themed event, but it also works particularly well alongside other inflatable challenges.
For example, the Party Time Assault Course provides a completely different physical challenge, with inflatable obstacles, climbing and sliding. The Toxic Assault Course offers another obstacle-based attraction with a dramatic green-and-black design.
Alternatively, Giant Buzzwire introduces a steadier hand-and-eye coordination challenge, while Giant Connect 4 adds a strategic game for guests who would rather compete without climbing onto an inflatable.
With several different attractions, you can create an informal competition day where guests test their abilities in different ways.
Gladiator Joust Hire for School Fun Days
School fairs, fundraising events and organised activity days can also make good use of the Gladiator Duel, provided participants meet the equipment's applicable age, size and operating requirements.
The head-to-head format makes it easy to organise individual matches, while the inflatable arena provides a clearly defined activity area.
For larger school events, consider arranging additional Staff for suitable attractions where dedicated supervision is required. We can also discuss Generator Hire if the proposed location does not have a convenient mains electricity supply.
Choosing the Right Location for Your Gladiator Duel
Unlike a long assault course, the Gladiator Duel concentrates its activity within one inflatable arena. Nevertheless, you will need sufficient level ground for the complete setup, including clearance around the inflatable, anchoring arrangements and the blower.
A suitable lawn or event field can provide an excellent location. Before booking, check the full product dimensions and allow enough additional space for safe operation and for spectators to remain outside the inflatable.
Outdoor hire depends on suitable ground and weather conditions. If you are considering an indoor booking, contact us first to confirm that the venue has enough floor space and ceiling height for the equipment.
Who Will Be Crowned Your Event's Gladiator Champion?
The most entertaining contests are often the ones nobody expects. A confident challenger can lose their balance almost immediately, while someone who appears less competitive can turn out to be remarkably difficult to knock off their stand.
That unpredictability is part of the appeal. Whether you are organising a birthday, a staff competition or a community fun day, the Gladiator Joust gives everyone something to cheer about.
It also makes a refreshing alternative to ordinary Bouncy Castles for events where participants want a direct challenge rather than free bouncing.
